‘We’re Not Strangers!’ is a dark comedy horror feature film that I’m currently working on. It has a simple premise - a couple and their tag along friend go to a hotel expecting it to be empty, but instead it’s full to the brim with people who want to be their friend more than anything in the world. What the couple don’t realize is that this is a cult of upbeat sadists, who seek to achieve personal catharsis through murder.
The film plays on a central awkward tension that begins as funny but then escalates into terror. A core theme of the film is how pain is manipulated into violence by monsters.
